That means if your transformer can only handle 500 volts and you plan on putting 20 watt bulbs, do your math and make sure it fits to the transformers capability. With the example, you can only put 25 20-watt bulbs in order to have them light up properly.
But if you desire to keep the light bulbs that you already have, purchasing another transformer or getting one that can handle all the voltages is a great idea. This way you will be able to accommodate more lighting in your home without the trouble of losing the bulb’s power or having a number of the lights dim.
As an extra check, another thing you can do is to check on the bulbs that they purchased. Often time cheap or unbranded light bulbs do not have the quality of expensive lighting which is why they tend to lose power more rapidly.
